I have recently been hired to network for a group of Australian personal finance blogs. In short, they are paying me in 20 hour increments to do a variety of time-consuming blogging tasks that help build up a blog. Here is what I’ve been hired to do:
- Comment on other sites on behalf of their own (Crystal @ Wallet Watcher for example)
- Reach out to other bloggers to accept guest posts
- Tweet posts from other bloggers
- Keep up with Facebook
So far, I am trying to get into the swing of things. I have a 100% understanding of the commenting and guest post placements, but I have been putting off the Twitter and Facebook aspects of the job until now. This is my first full week on the job and I will need to fit in at least 4 hours a day of their work.
Overall, I am a fan of this kind of work since it is giving me a steady paycheck. I was told about this job by Bucksome Boomer (thank you) who saw it on Problogger, so I would highly suggest keeping your eyes open for similar opportunities. My advertising ventures are more profitable overall but more erratic as well. This also is pushing me to read more blogs, which I have missed lately.
It does mean I have more work than when I actually had my day job, so if I cannot respond as quickly to my emails, I apologize. I am working out a great schedule this week so I will be able to stay on top of everything. I think this will be great!
